What do you charge? Do you give estimates?

To provide an accurate estimate, Chuck will meet with you to assess the condition of your home and to listen to you about your goals and preferences. We find that “driving by and taking a quick look” just doesn’t work. If getting the lowest price is your only concern, Apogee may not be the best fit for you.

After meeting with you, we develop a custom plan with detailed pricing and the materials to fit your budget. We provide you with copies of our licenses, liability insurance, and workers compensation insurance information; a copy of our surety bond; a list of references; and our Oregon State disclosure forms. top

Do you provide a written contract?

Yes, always. A clear, well-written contract is essential to ensuring success without surprises or disappointment. Our contract includes: your goals & concerns; neighborhood considerations; site-specific safety highlights; schedule; description of work; product lists including color placement; a detailed list of exclusions; and our terms and conditions. If you choose to add or delete work from your job, we will review the changes with you and then write a change order and exchange signatures before moving ahead. top

What is your warranty?

This is addressed during your estimate as we carefully assess your home. In most cases, we provide a five-year unlimited exterior warranty. If your home has areas with recurring problems that warrant intensive preparations or specialty repairs, we will review your options and may at times limit the warranty. top

Do you use lead-safe practices?

Yes, as residential painters we’re trained annually by the Department of Human Services. top

What type of paint do you use?

Based on your goals and desires (longevity, color, sheen, resistance to mildew, etc) we recommend the best products for your home from a variety of paint manufacturers. top

I would like to use environmentally-friendly products. Do you offer low or zero VOC solutions?

Yes. This is a rapidly growing area in the house painting industry. Please ask us about low and zero VOC primers and paints that may be best for your home. top

Is Apogee Painting a green business?

Apogee continuously works to be environmentally conscious. Two of our vehicles run on biodiesel and we park utility trailers at the jobsite rather than driving heavy vans back and forth to job sites each day. Whenever possible, we offer Low or Zero VOC painting solutions. top

Do you offer any faux painting? Can you help with colors?

No. Faux painting is a unique skill better left to professionals who specialize in faux finishes. If color choices are important to you, we recommend you work with a professional designer. It’s not as expensive as you may think. Please ask for our recommendations. top
